Not feeling terrible?

I lost my virginity when I was 13 to my boyfriend of 2 years. We had been good friends for years before that, and only started getting sexual when we were both as comfortable with each other as we were with ourselves. We broke it off right before high school, because we weren't going to be seeing each other very much, but he remains one of my best friends. I do realize that once a person has lost their virginity, it isn't coming back, but don't feel terrible with myself for losing it, nor do I feel like I made a bad decision. On the contrary, we recognize each other as first loves, and great influences the rest of our lives. I've often wondered if I should be kicking myself in the face for it like others do sometimes. Thoughts?

Well no, you said you dont feel bad about it... So why try to make yourself feel bad?

What sense would that make? You clearly made a choice you do not regret. Appreciate it for what it was and move on. What other people do because of their insecurity and personal issues should be of no concern to you. You have the rare ability to take the positive from something and let it make your life better... go with that and ignore the rest. Plus, the deed is done... will it make you a virgin to beat yourself up over it?? Seems like you are not looking for that anyway - more like guilt over not feeling guilty lol

Regrets will get you down like nothing else. Your biggest mistake would be to worry and regret the experience. Instead, I recommend honoring yourself, your first love, and cherishing the experiencing as a sacred one now past.

And I disagree, in a sense. I think you will feel a sense of "virginity" return to you every time you have sex with someone new, most especially if it is with a lover whom you know well.

I lost my virginity at a young age as well and the mistake in it for me was remaining highly sexually active afterwards. I recommend keeping sex as something special.

It is very refreshing to see a 13 year old spell out her words. Thank you. Now as far as your question goes. You do sound mature for your age, however you are still too young to be having sex. But you did. Dont kick yourself in the butt or face about it. It happens. If you are feeling bad about though, then you shouldnt do it. Try waiting for a while.

I would generally say 13 is very young to lose your virginity but you sound very mature and literate. As the expression goes you may be the "exception to the rule". Good for you! Stay on course in your life and excel!

Of course not. If you don't regret it, then why feel bad about it? He was your first love, that is the best person you can experience that with. Just people other people have made bad decisions and lost theirs with the wrong person does not mean you should feel bad about losing it to the right person at the time.

no i think its fine that you are not feeling bad cuz you were conferable with each other so don't kick your self in the face for doing what you did!!and you were really good friends its not like it was some guy of the streets!!

I too gave it away to my best friend of long standing. You are lucky that you two have such a good connection. Be happy that you gave it to someone you trusted with that part of you. The most you can do now is get with someone that will make you happy. Don't regret it unless you think you're going to Hell for it.

    Peace out,

    Puff
