There is always hope every 4 years. Until they treat elected officials differently when it comes to accountability, status quo will remain. Put a minimum 10 years of hard labour sentence for things such as electoral fraud, accepting kickbacks, abuse of power, etc. May make some think twice, unfortunately, that'll never happen.

There's an old maxim: "Power tends to corrupt - absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely". No government is immune. When people have power, they are tempted to misuse it.

This is why our country was set up with three separate branches of government. They are intended to be the checks and balances on each other. Problems occur if both the administrative and legislative branches are run by the same party; even worse if the majority of justices were appointed by that party.

Our voting system tends to even things out over time, but in the last century, our elected officials on both parties gerrymandered voting districts to more or less guarantee certain districts would be 'safe' seats. This has somewhat upset the balance needed for fair and open government.

Our newly elected representatives will bring some oversight back into the system, so there is a good chance things will swing back more into a balanced system again in 2007.

the authorities is corrupt, yet so are maximum different elements of society. From waste pickers good as a lot as those on the very correct of company and authorities. That reported, that is a generalisation, not anybody is corrupt. the numerous issues that you recommend are undesirable you may favor to re-evaluate. truly with the MMDA - human beings construct their houses and agencies illegally, in a large number of circumstances those human beings have their wares sprawled out for the period of finished lanes of site visitors impeding bypass for both autos and pedestrians. The MMDA is ideal to dismantle such establishments. The MMDA do not basically come alongside with a bulldozer and initiate trashing issues, they offer sufficient caution - in many circumstances months in strengthen, human beings ignore with regard to the warnings and easily initiate to care after that's already too late. the basically thanks to remove corruption is to coach your little ones that that's the incorrect element to do. that's going to take generations - or maybe after generations you'll under no circumstances remove it. Greed is a efficient element.

Yes, when the tooth fairy, santa, easter bunny and the wee little leprechauns take over the government. Oh, and maybe Peter Pan too. Otherwise, I highly doubt it, sorry, but corruption exist and I hate it, but power has been proven to be a mighty intoxicant

    to most in politics.

No, all governments are corrupt even if they don't know it, how else would they ever balance the budget and manipulate the people.

Some governments do the "right" thing about 50% of t5he time.

We are doing the right thing...it is the bleeding heart libs that (in thier foolish beliefs) think that all we have to do is talk the problems away...It isn't going to happen ..You may not agree with what the decisions that are made are...but at least they are made.

The right actions may not be the most popular...but it is a question of what needs to be done ...not what we would like....I would like a million dollars to fall out opf the sky into my lap...it isn't happening...I have to work to live...

Yes. When we have a President who, upon Inauguration Day will bow the knee before the world and dedicate his Presidency and this country to Jesus Christ, then real reform will take place. When the devil knows that he can no longer control the White House with his lies, then American will experience true freedom and we can rightful take our place as God's blessing upon the earth.

I'm not saying that they're doing the right things, but not everyone thinks like you do, they think they're doing the RIGHT thing. Everyone has different action, and knowledge. That's all there is to it.

Not a chance! As long as we send professional politicians to Washington, they will be beholding to certain constituents and special interest groups ... that's where their campaign money comes from and as they say ... "Money talks"!
