Could she be?

Can a women be pregnant if she has unprotected sex, and after a week takes an e.p.t test which come out to be negative and two days later she gets her periods.

What are the chances that the results from the test were wrong, and her period are not the correct indication that she is not pregnant?

Mike its not likely at all she's pregnant. There are two things that you mentioned that indicate "No" to your answer:

1.) The negative HPT. These readings are usually correct. Sometimes you get a false negative but it is rare.

2.) The uterus stops shedding its lining when a woman becomes pregnant therefore women rarely have a period and are pregnant at the same time.

She may not have been ovulating when she had unprotected sex.

That completely eliminates the chances of becoming pregnant altogether. No egg=no pregnancy.

If she was ovulating at the time of unprotected sex then there is still only a 25% chance of her getting pregnant and if the test came out negative then the sperm did not meet the egg and travel to the uterus.

There is a way the test could be wrong and she could have a period and that is if she has an ectopic pregnancy which is dangeros and normally occurs in women in their 30s+ but has been known to happen to younger women.

Ectopic pregnancies don't make it very far and Science has not found a way to save both the woman and the baby from dying. If this girl is experiencing an ectopic pregnancy the fetus will have to be surgically removed or both the fetus and the woman will die.

Though I doubt this is the case or this girl would have severe cramping or sharp abdominal pains not associated with her menstrual flow.

If she is looking or hoping to get pregnant I can suggest an ovulation chart which may not be accurate for all women as not every woman ovulates by a book. Actually no women ovulate by a book.

But you can try it out: http://www.babycenter.com/calculators/ovulation/

It will give you an estimate at best. You should also try ovulation testers which can be bought at places such as Rite-Aid, Walgreens...ect...

She can also check to see if she's ovulating by testing the color, thickness, and texture of her cervical mucous. Ovulation= "egg white" slippery mucous

Don't test your cervical mucous while making a bowel movement because the mucous comes out egg white when you're forcing a bowel movement a lot of the times anyway.

Just keep trying and have fun.

If she is not looking to get pregnant try birth controls, condoms, abstinence ect...

The pregnancy test is fairly accurate really when taken at an appropriate time (7-14 days after unprotected sex). Plus, the women got her period.

So, I'd say the chances she is pregnant are almost equal to none, really.

The chances of that happening are extremely low.
