Yes, I believe they are. You shouldn't really be dieting while you nurse. You NEED to continue taking your prenatal vitamins, and eat several small well balanced meals a day. Nursing raises your metabolism. If you need, or just want, to lose weight, you should watch what you eat and exercise at this point. You're still going to need the extra calories, because baby needs them. Just be sure you're eating healthy wholesome foods. Exercise, go for walks, dance with baby. There are lots of things you can do. I believe there are even exercise tapes designed for new moms and their babies. Diet pills aren't always healthy, and if you're taking them, baby is gettig a lot of stuff he/she probably doesn't need.

Would you give those pills directly to your baby? That's exactly what you would be doing.

Eat healthy, excercise, get plenty of protien and dairy to keep your milk up and the weight will drop off.

You can also check out weightwatchers on-line for breastfeeding mothers. It is effective and healthy for both mother and baby.

They are dangerous no matter what. You are burning plenty of calories just by breastfeeding - if you recently gave birth, then put the weight loss thing on hold until you're done nursing. You'll have more energy for exercise then anyway!

PROBABLY YES, ANYTHING THE MOTHER TAKES THE BABY TAKES TOO, SO IT CANT BE GOOD FOR A BABY TO BE ON DIET PILLS RIGHT? SHE SHOULD WAIT UNTIL SHES NOT BREASTFEEDING ANYMORE.

Yes, everything you take in transfers to your baby in your milk. You loose weight faster than normal anyway by breast feeding. If you really want to loose faster, join weight watchers or something, they have a modified plan for nursing mothers. ITs' much safer than diet pills.

Extremely, especially if they contain caffiene.

Would you feed mashed up pills to a baby? Then why pass the same ingredients through breastmilk?

I honestly have no idea, and I don't think anyone on here can safely say. that sounds like a pretty big deal, and that your midwife or obgyn would be the best one to talk to. good luck to you!!

YES! Remember everything you put in your body goes straight to the baby's milk.

the pills are dissolved in the mother's system and go into the breast milk!
