    ATP molecules!

    The result of aerobic respiration is 38 molecules of ATP. Here's the breakdown:

    1) Glycolysis- 2NADH/H+ and 2ATP formed

    2) Link Reaction- 2NADH/H+ formed

    3) Electron Transport Chain- 6NADH/H+ and 2FADH2 and 2ATP

    1 NADH/H+ gives you 3 molecules of ATP

    FADH2 gives 2 molecules of ATP

    and 6CO2 and 6H20

    Therefore overall equation:

    C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H20 + 38ATP

    there are 2 types of respiration done by humans

    aerobics- requires oxygen ex. pumping of blood by the heart

    anaerobic- without oxygen ex. during an exercise the heart muscle cannot provide more oxygen therefore the muscles respire anaerobically producing lactic acid

    (2 from glycolysis, 2 from Krebs Cycle, and 34 from Electron transport system)
