Why get so upset about hell if you don't believe in hell, God or the supernatural?

Someone made a comment about bieng told by Christians that they are going to hell, so what do you care if you don't believe it anyway? Why should that bother an athiest? Christians are always bieng accused of things that I personally have never done.

I have never told people that they were going to hell. I have always told them that God loves them, whether they want His love or not or whether they believe it or not. I would like to hear answers from both sides, thanks.

I don't get upset about hell, or your christian God, either.

It's the way in which christians say things like " You're going to bust hell wide open" and " oh don't worry- hell is big enough for you too.. I can't wait for you to get there".. that bother me and people like me.

I've read your bible cover to cover many times and most of those who make those statements don't act like the Jesus of the bible.

What I find amazing is that there's even a statement he makes about people like that where they're going to be very surprised to find that He never knew them.

I can appreciate that you believe in your God and His love. I can appreciate you feel the need to tell me that. I know that I am loved by my creator, and I'm happy that you feel the same way.

I just don't happen to need fire insurance to love mine back.

It seems such as you have a topic living with existence and actuality so which you convince your self there is not any God. The bible would not communicate approximately there being an afterlife, so for sure you do no longer believe a e book you have by no skill study. in case you're this sort of realist, then study the e book, then communicate approximately what's does and would not say. technology proves that there could be an more advantageous being. Our earth and universe are too intricately designed and paintings at the same time too completely to be an twist of destiny. Scientists and medical doctors can not even clarify all the intricacies of the human innovations. I disagree with you thinking that no person has administration over you. If that have been actual, you may by no skill die.

I only get upset about being told I'm going to hell because the statement is usually directed at me with a great deal of venom and bile. I do, however, get upset when I'm told I'm a Devil-worshipper who is going to hell, because that is extremely insulting and disrespectful to my faith (Wicca), and has been used to slander and persecute witches for centuries. It also bothers me tremendously because when I say, "I don't believe in Satan" I am frequently told, "Well, you're one of his followers", which implies that the accuser understands my beliefs better than I do. This is also extremely insulting. Just as Christians, I've noticed, don't like being told what they believe, neither do we.

My boyfriend jokingly tells me I'm going to hell all the time, and I just say, "Darn tootin'." It's not the concept of hell, it's the tone that's used when the comment is made.

Who the heck are these Christians gonig around and giving other Christians a bad rep? Some Christians are overly religious and think their religion is the only religion! What kind of Christian would tell someone they're going to hell jsut b/c they don't believe in God? Unless they said "Go to hell" which is different.

In politics and law we say "you'll go to prison" if you "break the law."

Laws are a relative commidity and designed to benefit some at the expense of others.

Example. You aren't poor so you don't qualify for county free medical, you aren't rich so you can't pay $150 a month for MVP. You get Pneumonia. You live in San Diego. You walk across the border into Tijuana, go to a drug store, ask for some E-Mycin which is over the counter in Mexico, pay $15 for 50 tabs and walk back across the border into America and once inside they serach you and find a restricted, prescription drug with no doctor's name. You are guilty of a crime and can face jail, a fine, plus your medicine gets confisctaed.

Buying E-Mycin over the counter is legal in many countries, but not the US where Doctors have a lobby to protect their rights to make $100 to write a script.

But now you're a criminal with a police record for being guilty of "ILLEGALLY POSSESSING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE."

Explain that one to your employer when you make a job application.

You go to "hell" for the darndest of things!

Its annoying. If an atheist is wrong (ha!) he'd get to regret it in the afterlife - but if the religious person is wrong (and they are) they'll never get to say 'Oh I was wrong' - its emotionally unsatisfying for an atheist.

They keep telling us we're gonna go to hell and since their god is such a foul ignorant vile ogre you cant help but think he might be evil enough. I'd rather see Christians burn.

    Dear Nana,

That is a great observation! If they do not believe just go on to the next question or one that they feel comfortable with. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Source(s): Bible (KJV); "What Must I Do To Become Saved?" by Harold Camping.

It is the equivalent of saying F.U. So is telling someone who doesn't believe in God that God loves them. It is telling someone that their ideas are irrelevant, that you haven't heard them, and it's a verbal sneer.

I believe in not pushing your beliefs on on other people, it does more to separate than to bring people together. right?
