my mac powerbook isnt responding, what do i do?

the screen is just black, i see a little white light on the bottom middle of the lid, i tried connecting the charger, it wont do anything.

i know that the battery must of ran out, but usually after connecting to the wall, it will startup again.

Okay, here's what you do. Remove the battery and plug the adapter straight into the computer. The laptop can run without the battery, if you still get a blank screen then you probably need to get it serviced. I had that happen to me once, and it was a cable for the screen that had gone bad. You could also connect the laptop to a monitor and see if it you get anything from the hard drive. If it works, then you know it's the screen. If you get nothing, take it to the nearest Apple Store/Service provider.
