what is the government and churche's stand on suicide in the U.S.?

    which church? Most I know of consider suicide to be mortal sin. It is seen as a form of murder.

    Suicide is illegal. That way, firemen and police have a right to prevent the "crime" from happening. I don't think you go on trial for having committed suicide. But it's illegal so that we can allow people to prevent it.

    some people want to legalize "mercy" killing, or assisted suicide. There are probably a few minor religious congregations that support it, but I don't know which ones.

    Both are against it,for one it's a crime the other it's a sin.
