Listen man, I've been there. My best friend is the love of my life. She loves me with all of her heart. She just isn't in love with me. That's where her bf comes in. The best advice I can give to a guy goin through the same thing? Sit her down & talk to her. Tell her how you feel(if you haven't). If she is showing feelings like this then she obviously has them. & if she does have them her current bf can't mean too much to her. In the end the girl will realize who is more important. Him or the guy who is willing to do whatever it takes. Prevail man. In the end it will be worth it. Message me, let me know how it goes.

As you are a US citizen, absolutely nothing. And even if you weren't a US citizen, there would still be nothing wrong with this as long as you were not in the US illegally. You can't help who you fall in love with can you?

I'm British and fell in love with an Albanian, who I married. He is competely legal with every right to reside with me in Britain. Yet, we still experience prejudice and discrimination from an ignorant few on occasions.

I think when it comes to situations like this, you can clearly separate the justified views of the anti-illegals and the prejudiced ramblings of those people who are just plain racist.

    Take care : )

I guess you must be a non-white Mexican if you are concerned with interracial issues. I always thought Mexicans were white, but I have been firmly told that despite Native Americans being of Asian descent and Spanish being of Spanish descent, somehow Mexicans aren't white. So I would really appreciate it if you would all wear signs from now on so I will understand when I see you that I am looking at someone from a different race. On my own it is pretty hard for me to tell.

    Sorry. What was your question?

In my own experience, miscegenation can be good. I am a 60 years old Brazilian man with Spanish, Portuguese and native South-American indian blood. So, I used to be the typical "dark foreigner" when I went to college in Texas and met the American woman who is the mother of my two children. It was too difficult for me to live in the US, 'cause I was supposed to interact only with Mexicans, except that my culture is not Mexican. I am a musician and play Bossa-Nova and Jazz. I would have liked to have black friends but that was impossible too, back in the 70s. So I decided to live in my own country, where there is a lot of interracial breading. Of my 7 brothers and sisters, three of them have "brown" children from their marriages to Afro-Brazilians. My two children have three nationalities and speak three languages. My daughter is the typical "all American" woman: white, blonde and blue-eyed. She is married to an "all American" man and their child is an "all American" girl. My son, 23, is tall and "moreno" (dark) with brown hair and eyes. He is still going to college in Portland and does not have a child of his own. I think that a valid strong counteraction to racism is miscegenation. But apparently in some countries interracial marriages are very unlikely. They should have started way back. Like, in Brazil it started in the year of 1500, when the Portuguese first arrived. They mingled with the Indians and with the Africans that were brought later on. Immigrants from Europe who arrived much later also have incorporated the miscegenation custom the same way as the Japanese, Korean and Chinese immigrants. So, today there is not a typical Brazilian face. Over here, if someone does not speak Portuguese, people are even more interested in talking to him/her out of curiosity for the different. Therefore, what's the big deal about a Mexican girl in love with her white boyfriend? If they would have children, I bet they would be very smart and good looking.

If you are a born and raised US Citizen, why do you claim that you are a Mexican girl?

A Mexican is a citizen of Mexico. Are you ashamed of being a US Citizen?

Have you ever been to Mexico?

Have you ever studied the history of Mexico?

If you have done both you would understand why people are trying to leave Mexico to come to the USA.

Mexico has NOTHING to be proud of! It is an often defeated country that is known for it's corruption.

When I met real Mexicans they almost all lie and claim to be US Citizens.

Now if you want to embrace your idealogical "Hispanic Hertigage" you could claim that you are Hispanic.

To falsely claim to be Mexican is a dis-service to your ancestors who gave up so much for you to be a US Citizen!

Do not dishonor them you have done so much for you.

As for your white boyfriend, are your white friends objecting or is it hispanics that are objecting?

Don't listen to that silly answer by tabula..."as long as ur a US citizen" foolish can THAT be.

The problem you may have, is that many people are prejudiced....and you will see that all through your life...

if you really are in love with this guy, then fight for him, and make sure that he is in love with you too. Be prepared to deal with back-stabbing and name-calling, but no worse than you will have to deal with from other areas.

To TABULA: my wife is still not a Canadian citizen, and we have been married for 29 years...what the heck does it matter what your citizenship is?....

Back to your yourself, and treat people how you want to be treated. Make sure your boyfriend is up for the challenge, and both of you take the challenge together.

Life itself is a constant challenge and you need to prepare yourself each and every day for something new, bright and exciting...BEST OF LUCK to you BOTH>
