How do you remove a Virus from your computer?
I purchased Norton Anti Virus software but it will not remove a couple of viruses! One of the viruses is a Trojan.

If Norton is finding the virus, but not removing it after sever scans, than most likely, it has something to do with your system restore feature; a place that Norton cannot get to. What you have to do first is turn it off. Follow this path to get to your system restore options: Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Click on the "System Restore" tab. Then click "turn off system restore", then click OK. If any warnings come up, just click OK. Run Norton again. This should get rid of your problem. If it does not, reboot and run Norton again. Your system restore should remain off during this whole process. Now you should be problem free. You can just follow the path that I mentioned above to turn back on your system restore.

Hi,
I am not trying to scare u but it is a very tedious procedure. I have Norton internet security and i was able to remove all trojans but it took me 3 days.
What i did is registered at forums.us.dell.com They will tell u exactly what u shud be doing. U can trust them coz they helped me in removing trojans and spyware.
Or u can format ur hard disk and install a fresh operating system. This is probably the fastest and the best way out.
Hope that helps.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
