Frankincense is a form of resin found in Boswellia trees. They have a thick, pungent smell that is sometimes an ingredient used to make incense and perfumes.

Myrrh is a resin from Commiphora trees. It can be used to treat small wounds, helping them to heal faster. It too has a thick aroma when burned.

By the way, the frankincense and myrrh bit from Family Guy is hilarious. "I thought we agreed on a $5 limit!" =]

frankincense is used in Christian burials to purify\bless the body (that's the smoke coming out of the ball). Also used in aromatherapy for relieving stress.
