Heavy weights will put on bulk and mass. Lighter weights with allot of reps will develop small lean muscle.

To build mass you need high weight low reps. Actually high weight high reps is fine but not possible, if you can do high reps then you dont have high enough weight. Light weight numerous reps will tone your muscle not build it quickly.

Work with a weight where 3 sets of 10 reps will leave you unable to even complete half a rep (point of exahustion) and causes you to severely struggle for the last reps of latter sets.

Proper form, diet, and planning (targeting specific muscle groups on specific days) is crucial.

ohh, forgot. When workin out, personally i think u need to work different muscles at a time to build. Now i do triceps and biceps, cardio, shoulders abs forearms, cardio, chest and back, cardio, legs. through the week. bout to change, mentioned changin, to triceps and back, cardio, shoulders abs forearms, cardio, chest and biceps, cardio, legs. Some people like workin chest and triceps together, back and biceps together, personally i dont like it. Cuz when u work chest, u use your triceps, so if u do triceps first, u wont get a good chest workout, tripecs r already wasted. Same thing with back, your pullin, that involves biceps, cant get a good workout if u already worked out your biceps. Or other way around, just gettin done with back then goin to biceps, your biceps r already tired, so u cant get a good heavy workout with them, so like doin it my way. Also let your muscles heal, that why we do like triceps and biceps at the begining of the week, then chest and back at the end. Make sure to 2 r healed before workin them again for another muscle. But umm, always change your workout, it really works.

Source(s): workin out for bout a year now.
  • Heavy weights that make you do 10 reps at a time. =<)

my personal opinion is the latter-lighter weights, longer time...

if u lift heavy weights which is beyond ur capabilities, u will end up expanding more energy and effort and work-out less...

start with weights that u are comfortable with, but have a challenge then increase weights as u progress...

Do lighter and more reps and slowly without using momentum to lift.
