Taj Mahal is not a temple. It was made by Shah Jahan as a gift to his wife. He was a Mogul. The Moguls at the time were very devout Muslims.

Inside the Taj, is the grave of Shah Jahan and his wife. On one side of the Taj (the left as you enter the courtyard) is a mosque (Muslim place of worship), that was a mosque when the place was built and remains a mosque to this day. Infact the imam there is the direct descendant of the imam of Shah Jahan's day. In which case there is no sign of a Temple to Lord Shiva.

None of the two are going to come back and claim. You decide whom you love the most : Muslim Emporer or Lord Shiva.

Of course, it was built by Shah Jahan as a remembrance of her wife. That is what is written in the ancient books and my history book for that matter.

You can never see an idol of Lord Shiva there!!

Whatever you think about Islam, the two most beautiful buildings in the world are muslim architecture: the Taj Mahal and the Alhambra in Spain.

It was build by a mughal emperor for his dead woman...

It's a mausoleum, not a temple for a god, it shows how big was his love for his woman and it celebrates her beauty
