Santa Clause is real. I am sure that you have heard him called different names-Father Christmas-St. Nick-Kriss Kringle-Santa Claus. Different people in different places have different names for him. He is the same person and he was first called Saint Nicklaus. Saint Nicklaus first started working in a small town named Myra in Turkey. He was a Bishop of a church. This is recorded in history as being in 300AD. What this means is that time was 300 years after Jesus Christ was born. People started a different time after Christ was born. This time was called AD and the time before was BC..Being a really nice person and believing in Christ and in doing good he began his work. A poor family attended his church. This family had three daughters who had no dowry. In this town and even in some places today a girl had to have some money to even get a husband. Because a woman could not work on a job like many women do today she needed a husband to take good care of her. Ofcourse she wanted children to and all children need a daddy as well as a mother. Atleast it should be this way although some times it is not. These poor girls went to bed feeling so sad because they would never be able to have a husband without any money. They washed their stockings and hung them up to dry before going to bed. That night Saint Nicklaus took three gold coins and put a gold coin in each girls stocking. The next morning the girls were so surprised and thrilled. The girls got married and were very happy with their husbands and children. Another tradiation was started where some brides put a coin in their shoe before getting married for good luck-usually a penny. That is why people still put up Christmas stockings today. People used to say that if you were bad you would just get a lump of coal but if you were good you may get candy and other gifts in your stocking. I really never have heard about anyone every getting coal for a present since that would just not be a nice thing to leave for a present. Saint Nicklaus gave small gifts and candy to poor children in his church. For many years children got hand made toys and gifts. Usually just one or two gifts, Apples and oranges and candy and nuts were left in the stocking along with a small gift or the gifts were just left under the tree. Today people put up lots of Christmas lights and decorations. Many people have a big decorated tree every year. Now there is so many presents under many Christmas trees. There are so many presents that sometimes people forget about every thing else but the presents Today most churches give everyone a bag of candy with nuts and apples-oranges-tangerines. People say Santa Clause lives at the north pole with his wife and the elves and raindeer. One thing you can know for sure is that Santa Clause does live in the true spirit of Christmas. Merry Christmas and a happy new years.

    santa claus is real

The American version of St. Nicholas, or Santa Claus originally came from the Dutch version called Sint Klaas. The Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (New York) brought this fun and lively tradition (some even say cult) to America.

Hagios Nikolaos, Bishop of Myra (in the present day Turkey),

St Nicholas reportedly died about 350 AD.

Today, this mythical character is still alive and well and is known all over the world as: Nicholas of Myra, Santa Claus or "Santa" in America.

His fame spread rapidly during the Middle Ages and thousands of churches are dedicated to him.

He has been the patron saint of Russia, Moscow, Greece, children, sailors, prisoners, bakers, pawnbrokers, shopkeepers and wolves.

His gift-giving role in Christmas rites probably follows from his fame as the friend of children. The story also tells that he used to give anonymous donations of gold coins to persons in need. His cult spread in Europe and Christmas presents were distributed on December 6th when the celebration of St. Nicholas took place.

    etc.etc.etc.

the idea of him coming through chimneys was the duches!

No he isn't real, but the man he is impersonating is. The mans name was St. Nicholas, who gave out gifts to the poor. That was like AGES ago. After he died, people thought of his genorosity and started giving out gifts to each other.
