Whenever I play movies on my computer, all I get is sound, and a black screen.?
By movies I mean DVD's and internet downloads and streams such as those from Yahoo Videos. It's weird 'cause I can play movies from YouTube and MySpace...I think it's just R rated material. If that's the case can anyone show me how to change the settings on my cpu. It runs on Windows XP Home Edition...
I downloaded the codec dealys yet nothing

It's more likely because you're missing some video codecs. Codecs are files in windows that tell the computer how to decode the data in certain media files. Different media files have different formats and thus require different codecs. Go get g-spot which will tell you if you have the needed codecs for a file (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/)
Also, there is a good codec pack out there called CCCP (http://www.cccp-project.net/) Which I use and have never had any problems with in the more than a year that I have been using it.

Perhaps you need a new set of codecs, I had the same problem and not with R rated material.
