ok solar power.....?
those solar power things how do they work - i know they use the sun and store up power and all but im trying to tell someone how they work and are used and how they store up solar power by using the sun. how should i explain it? also what are the solar power things called?

They are called photovoltaic cells. They don't store electrical energy, they generate it.
Photovoltaic (PV) cells are made of special materials called semiconductors such as silicon, which is currently the most commonly used. Basically, when light strikes the cell, a certain portion of it is absorbed within the semiconductor material. This means that the energy of the absorbed light is transferred to the semiconductor. The energy knocks electrons loose, allowing them to flow freely. PV cells also all have one or more electric fields that act to force electrons freed by light absorption to flow in a certain direction. This flow of electrons is a current, and by placing metal contacts on the top and bottom of the PV cell, we can draw that current off to use externally. For example, the current can power a calculator. This current, together with the cell's voltage (which is a result of its built-in electric field or fields), defines the power (or wattage) that the solar cell can produce.

Solar Power in layman's terms.
The sun shines on a solar panel these are what you see on roof tops and in back yards. These solar panels (no need to go to the atoms and protons or elements here) create DC electric same as in your car battery. The solar panels are normally hooked to a Charge Controller. A charge controller is a regulator like what is in a car as well. It charges the batteries with the DC electric from the solar panels keeping the batteries from over charging. And the batteries are where the electric is stored. Next you have what is called a Power Inverter which is what changes the DC voltage from the batteries to 120 volts house electric.
Solar Panels, change the suns light in to DC electric.
Charge Controller, controls how much of the DC electric the batteries get.
Batteries, store the electric.
Power Inverter, changes the electric from DC electric to AC house electric.

The potential energy from the sunlight is converted to electrical energy by the use of semi-conductors, but the storage of the electric energy requires batteries or some other storage device. So this is one limiting factor on the use of solar panels -- they only produce electricity during sunlight. The way around that of course is the use of a battery bank that feeds the stored electricity back into your circuits at night and on cloudy days. The chemicals in the solar cell cause one end to have more electrons than the other end. This is called an electrical potential. It can be compared to lifting a weight off the floor and putting it on the table. It has the same potential energy as it took to lift it to table height. When you push it off the table the energy is released as it hits the floor. In such a way the energy from the sun creates the potential energy between the chemicals in a solar cell. Solar power is economically feasible in some areas.
You can use photovoltaic cells to change light in electricity.We use one on the boat to keep the batteries charged.
You can use black water filled tubes to absorb heat and distribute it to the house or even to make steam for electricity. There are other fluids used too.
We had a black tube air filled system that blew hot air into the house and gave great assist to the regular system. It was enough in spring and fall and aided in the winter on those nice sunny cold days.
In desert areas they are producing electricity for cities, Many areas have solar collectors facing south(northern hemisphere) collecting heat for the house and hot water,Many photovoltaic cells are operating for research stations.
Electric energy is stored in batteries. Heat energy is stored in a material that absorbs heat well. Any of them can be called solar collectors.

solar power means sun's energy. solar devices use sun's energy to do different tasks.

(1)they convert solar energy into electricity, eg-photovoltaic cells

We should more and more go for solar energy. It a non polluting, non ending, eco friendly and reliable source of energy.
