How to cure a ear that needs to pop?

I have a cold and i'm really congested and my left ear needs to pop, and i'm taking medicine but its just not going away.

any good suggestions?

Update:

I'm also taking medicine that you 'sniff' down your nose.

lots of different things you can try.

    1. swallow extremely hard.

    2. hold your nose, shut your mouth, and blow out. then swallow.

    3. chew gum.

    4. yawn.

    5. a combo of all these.

it may be that medicine that is messing you up as well.

I even have the comparable feeling taking place in my appropriate ear. It drives me nuts. My answer could be to apply hydrogen peroxide interior the ear at evening and notice if something blocking off it somewhat is going to sparkling up.

You need to equalize your eyes more often. While sitting down, grab both nostrils and slowly lean forward towards your knees. Chewing gum, yawning and swallowing your own saliva also works too.

Try chewing some gum. When flying that is what they tell you to do to make your ears pop, maybe it will work for this as well.
