Are vegetarians generally liberals rather than conservatives?

Just wondering if there is a connection between

meat eater and conservative/republican, and

vegetarian/vegan and liberal..

Vegetarian old Indian word for bad hunter, that would be Liberals if we are going to generalize. Conservatives prefer red meat with a little blood showing.

Most vegetarians choose their lifestyle due to their beliefs on animal cruelty, etc. They don't feel its ethical to sacrifice animals for our own nutritional sustinance. Some people WOULD eat animals if the slaughter process was better. Some think any captive breeding, cultivating and slaughter program is purely cruel (milking of cows, harvesting of eggs, etc) hence why many people are vegans, too, and won't even eat things like Milk.

These animal-welfare ideals are USUALLY related to the liberal parties.

In my experience, most conservatives do not include animal welfare into their platforms.

So.. yeah. Majority of them are liberals

The reasons for being a vegetarian are intellectual and sophisticated; traits not found in conservatives.
