It all depends on what you want, gas mileage, speed, room, how long do you plan on keeping it. AWD or two wheel drive front or rear. As far as long lasting always check consumer reports and reveiws.

Consumers Reports will not only give you information on the cars with the lowest frequency of repair, it will also tell you what specific items cause the most and least trouble on every model of every popular car.

You cannot say that a specific make of car is best:(Honda Accord, Toyota Camry). You must know the make, model and year as well. It is possible that this years model has nothing or little in common with last years.

You can find Consumers Reports annual buyers guide on line or at your local library. Ask the Reference librarian.

Car salesmen will tell you anything to make a sale. Do not believe them, ever.
