MAPP gas is used for welding due to its high combustion temperature of 2927 °C (5301 °F) in oxygen.
Dunno of propylene.
But MAPP IS HOTTER FOR SURE.

MAPP gas. Methylacetylene-propadiene contains the same triple bond which Acetylene contains. This is an extremely high energy bond which give MAPP and Acetylene it's high heat output.
Acetylene is so unstable that if it were put under pressure, without the stabilizing effects of acetone, it would detonate.
Just so you know, Methylacetylene spontaneously converts back and forth from and to Propadiene. It's not really a different gas.
