Is downloading game demos on the PS3 free?

i just got a PS3 a couple of days ago ,but i just found out that you can download game demos if so,are they free?

Yes ofcourse if they are demo's then they are free

My hubby works for gamestop. He said that most demos are free but they can trick you. so just read carefully before you confirm
