What are this season's flu symptoms like in NYC?
Is there extreme stiffness in the joints and muscles of the body and a soreness along the upper spine?

The most common symptoms are a fever (over 101), cough, sore throat and bodyache. The symptoms are pretty much the same every year, although they may be more or less severe depending on this season. This year, flu activity in NYC has been a little slow so far. Florida and nearby states have seen the most activity so far, with the rest of the country being slow to start. The joint stiffness and muscles stiffness may be a symptom, although it is not likely to be the flu if there is no fever or cough. A physician can use a rapid test to tell you if it is flu; the test gives an answer in less than 30 minutes.
