Initially, December 25th was the pagan celebration of the Winter Solstice. In the 4th century, the Emperor Constantine, established this day for Christians as a form of unity between the pagans and Christians(same holiday of celebration).

its a peagan holiday, so people just made it up. Jesus was really born in sep.-oct. You see the scenes about when Jesus was being born? It shows different animals outside with Jesus and Mary. If it was really cold outside (december) all the animals would be inside a barn or something, and Jesus would of been born inside. Not ouside. So thats how you can tell that Chrismas is a false holiday. Also look at this. http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2000/12/15/art...

if u read The Da Vinci Code u wld hv found ur answer there. i read it but dont remember the full answer. i think it was the Church then, they wanted people to convert from the pagan religions to Christianity to they incorporated the beliefs and some rituals of paganism into Christianity to make the transition from paganism to Christianity easier and more bearable for the pagans. one of the beliefs was Christmas to be celebrated on 25th Dec although in paganism the date was set aside for a different kind of celebration altogether.

The people who were watching the heavens. This was way before Jesus, the people in Northern Europe were watching as winter progressed, and the sun continued to slide southward. A couple of days after the Solstice they noticed that the Sun had stopped its southward slide and they were ecstatic, and so in time inaugurated unmitigated expressions of jubilation upon the frozen landscape, and they burned logs and danced and hollered and sweated in their huge furs.

Later, to commemote the birth of Jesus, they said what better time than right now at Yule when we are already at our happiest!

And so, children, Christmas was begun. Isn't it glorous! And Jesus is smiling down on us, and he turns to Peter and says, "But you know most of them are going to Hell anyway."
