Explain to me the hierarchy of the court system?

In most states you have district or municipal court. Then Circuit Court, this is then followed by the appeals court and finally the State Supreme Court. Then each state has a Federal District Court, this court then appeals to the Court of Appeals for their area, in my case the 8th circuit court of appeals, and finally if they are granted cert., then the U.S. Supreme Court.

What do you need to specifically? Basically it goes General District Circuit Court>Circuit Court of Appeals>U.S. Supreme Court.
