If your spouse sent you a text message saying that they want you, wouldn't you go home ASAP?

My significant other decides to show up 2 hrs later after receiving the message because he was out with boys having a drink. Do I have the right to be pissed off?

    1. how do you know what time he received the message? I've tm'd my fiancee in the morning and I ended up being with him in the evening when he received it finally. he could have come home immediately after getting the message.

    2. i've done that to my fiancee and he just replies with "lol". do I think that means he doesn't give a hoot about me? NO.

    3. you are NEEDY! stop buggin him while he's out having a few with his buddies!

You have NO right to be pissed off. If it was an emergency you should have called, but it was a "i want you" message, thereby not an emergency, so stop being pissed because he wanted to hang with his friends.

If you knew he was out with the boys then why bother? Sounds like a manipulative tactic to get your way with him. Give him a break here at least it only took him two hours to get home, could have been an all night thing but it wasnt. It is unrealisitc that you expect him to drop everything at your beck and call. Dont smother him and let him have his fun with his boys too, If you do this he will think he has the best girl ever. Its all about compromise honey.

It sounds to me like you might have been trying to control/manipulate him. A situation like that is always affected by the things that happened before.

Did you know he was going out? Does he feel like you try to control him? Is he always so unconcerned about your wishes?

You need to take a good hard look at both your own and his own motives.

In either case - spending time with his friends shouldn't be a big deal - but the way that both of you feel about this event might be something you need to deal with.

Men have ego's, and even though you won't get them to admit it, they are affected by peer pressure. I bet it went something like this:

He was out and got your text. He told his friends that you wanted him to go home and they teased him about being whipped. Out of respect for you, he didn't want to tell them why you wanted him home (which if he did tell them, they would have kicked his *** to get him out of there). With lack of a better excuse, he decided to say and avoid more ridicule from his friends.

I think you should just let it go, but tell him that he has to make it up to you.

Did you tell him why you wanted him home?

If I got a generic txt message .... I probably would call to see what was up

By honey, let's face it ---- drinks with the boys almost always wins out on the priority list.

Look at it this way, if he did that to you and you already had plans with the girls! would he have the right to be pissed off? That all I can tell you because I don't know how you both operate. So basically put yourself in his shoes. good luck sunnydays

yes, he could have called to see what you wanted. if it was important, he should have come home or called. but if you were just being jealous of the fact that he was w/ his friends, then get over it. i have learned that the one you love needs some time away from you at times.

When he was with the boys I told him to go home in 30 minutes or else, well he eventually got home earlier than 30 minutes with the scared look on his face. You have to be strict sometimes if you know its way getting out of hand.

No, That's such a minor thing that I would let it pass. It wasn't as if they didn't come home until the next day.
