Don't you just love this?

"Parents are to blame" while individuals make the personal choice to simutaniously teach disrespect towards parents.

Do people not realize teaching disrespect towards parents backfires on our entire nation as a whole? It isn't "winning over" the child's trust it's called manipulation - the big green eyed monster with dollar signs for pupils.

Yes, parents make mistakes and there are those who don't parent appropriately at all...how has this turned into all parents? What of those who "think they know it all" and proceed to give bad advice to children and young adults? How about struggling with personal responsibility ....isn't that preying on the weak?

Update:

Edit: How about adults that are struggling with irresponsibility....isn't that preying on the weak?

Stupid kids are just raising themselves wrong nowdays, huh?

You know it seems odd to me. Would you expect someone to run a nuclear reactor for an energy company without being properly trained? And yet people expect kids to "grow up" without being taught how to do that. Parenting is a much more difficult task than running a nuclear plant and yet somehow just because the boy's peter gets hard everyone thinks he should automatically know how to raise a child. One of the stupidest and most egotistical ideaology that Americans subscribe to. My guess is your parents actually took the time to raise you which is why you're so much better than your neighbor, eh? Seems they should have taken a little more time to teach you not only how to be self-efficient but also how to do it with class.

In my opinion it begins with parents. They are responsible for their child from the minute they are born. They need to teach their child right from wrong and give them values.

As a child grows, he has other outside influences to contend with. Teachers, peers, media...will all play a part in teaching a child the ways of the world and do play a part in molding who they will be as adults. The parent's, however, need to always be a part of the child's life. They need to be sure that their child does not get lead down the wrong path. When adults influence children in ways that are irresponsible then yes, it is preying on the weak.

I do agree that disrespecting parents backfires on our entire nation as a whole. I always wonder, if a child is is disrespectful to their parents, the people who gave them birth, raised them and love them more than anything, how disrespectful will they be to a stranger, someone they have not connection to.

Children are our future. They will become doctors, lawyers, politicians, mothers, fathers, teachers. What they are taught will carry over into their adult lives and have an impact on what type of the place the world will become. Actually, with the way society is these days, that's a frightening thought, don't you think?

In today's society, too many adults with children are not parents!

Some are not interested, others lazy or too self absorbed to take the time to be a parent.

Being a real parent, far beyond biological ability, takes time and work.

By the same token, adults that continue to 'blame their parents' for everything in their life aren't adults either. At some point, to be an adult, you have to take personal responsibility.

Parents are caught in between a rock and a hard place today. Social Services actually came to my daughters school and told the kids if they were spanked they could call the hot-line. Sorry but spare the rod, spoil the child has proven to be correct. Today's softer gentler approach to discipline has gotten us the highest rate of Juvenile crime, drug use, gang member ships in history.

I didn't understand the question...do you support parents advice or you think that parents are guilty for the failures of their own children.

however, my point is this : our parents always know what is the proper path....but we are not ready to except that...until we fail...and then we realize that our parents....have something that we don't ....life experience....

So it would be the best...to take our parents advice...and then to make the decision that fit us most.

Take care...and love your parents...after all they did create you, don't you think :)

You are 100% right! The main thing is not to be a tyrant to your kids, to be tolerant to them, to pay heed to their needs and doubts, to be open, never to feel ashamed about them. Then wicked people would never influence your child.
