I get cold really fast.....?

Even when the AC is on a little bit, I start to freeze, my fingers get very numb, I'm 110lb & everyone keeps telling me its my weight. I need to get some fat on my bones, or that I don't have any blood. Does that make any sence? Can I do anything to help this problem? Somthing that's scientifically proven to work. Thanks.

It could be your weight, it could be anemia or chills or temperature sensitivity. Get more iron in your system. Dress in layers not like decked out in a sweater and a snow suit but perhaps wear a t shirt or long johns underneath your top layer of clothing.

well first it is not the fat in your body that keeps you warm, fat is just a reserve for energy, it is the iron that is in your blood that regulates body temp. Not sure what type of diet you have, are you taking a daily multivitamin?

You should include beans and dark leaf greens to up you iron intake naturally. May want to increase your activity level to increase your blood flow as well. I use to have the same problem, and still fight my husband on the heat and air settings, a healthy diet, multivitamin and an extra layer of clothing is always helpful. Also may want to mention avoiding carbonated drinks for 4-6 hours after you take a multivitamin, the carbonation will flush the vitamins and minerals out of your system before they even get a chance to be absorbed, expensive pee is what you get. Good luck on getting and staying warm this winter!

I have the same problem. I am just guessing that it is because I normally have lower blood pressure. I do eat a balanced diet and all but I think its just because my blood pressure normally runs a little lower. I mean its usually between 110-115 over 55-60 or lower. So, I usually dress in layers anyway just to stay warm which is ok since I live in Wisconsin and it gets really cold here anyway.

hey, i have the same problem too. its to do with circulation. i have terrible numb fingers and toes even when its warm weather and just by putting on gloves or socks doesn't make a difference at all. (i am 5ft 10 and about 11 stone)they need to be rubbed and moved about to get the blood rushing. wear lots of layers and get the thermals out if you have to. if ur still not sure see a doctor. goodluck smyles xx

I'll be watching your answers. I do the same thing and I dont know why. I do notice that its worse when I'm really tired, but my husband and I argue all the time about a.c. in the summer. I hate it because he wants it on like 62 degrees and i would turn into a icecube. I have normal blood pressure, so I cant figure it out either. Good luck to us!

I have the same problem. You have plenty of blood - just probably weak circulation. Have you always had low blood pressure? It sucks, but you have the advantage during the summer when everyone is sweltering and you're just a little warm. Don't worry about it - just put on a sweater.

I am 5'5" and weigh 85lbs due to a back injury. It is true that thin people get cold easier than heavier individuals. My remedy for this is vitamin "C" time released with rose hips.
