Troubles with DVD-RAM?

Sometimes it ignores all my happens mostly after the time the drive was playing CD/DVD for a long time. Also it happens after writting of CD/DVD. Have such troubles only on HP desktops.

    Here are the troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check in the Device Manager (Right click My Computer --> Properties --> Hardware -->Device Manager).

    See whether you have red X mark or yellow ! mark near the DVD drive. If so, try re-installing the driver.

    2. Use a cleaning disc to clean the heads.

    3. Try using a bootable CD/DVD and restart the computer. (Operating System CD/DVD --> Windows XP).

    If the computer does not read the CD/DVD while booting, then for sure it is a lens problem.

    Try to change the lens with the help of a technician.
