Does it hurt to put hot meat in refridgerator?

Will it cause meat to spoil if you take it directly from oven and put into refridgerator?

If you don't let the food settle to room temperature before putting in the fridge, you up the risk of bacterial growth as well. Let's say you made a pot of macaroni. You eat a bowl, then scoop the hot macaroni out of the pan and into some tupperware (still steaming hot) throw on the lid, and chunk it in the fridge. The outside of the macaroni will cool, but it insulates the core keeping the middle of the macaroni warm longer. Bacteria like warm spots, so they will thrive in the middle of your macaroni. When you decide you want to eat again, you splash out a big spoonful not knowing it's covered in bacteria, and down the hatch! Macaroni, fake cheese, and bacteria!

how is something hot going to "lower" the temp of other foods surrounding it...idiot. Kristy is right putting something hot directly into something cool allows bacteria to "hibernate" for lack of a better word then revive themselves upon reheating.

yes, bacteria will infest the meat. Bacteria die when warmed and "sleep" when put in the fridge. and when it is directly put in the fridge after coming out of the oven, it just harm you when eaten.
