Do you really believe there is only one person truly meant for you, or are there many who could be a soulmate?

and we in essence marry out of convenience, circumstances and location?

No there is perhaps only one person for you at one time in your life. But people are ever changing beings and your soul mate when you're 20 may not be the same person as when you're 30.

Thats not to say don't settle down more like don't give up. I've listened to too many people whining about how their soul mate dumped them and they will never love again.

Its all a load. If you get married you grow with the person so the changes bring you closer together.

From my experience, clearly many can be your soulmate. I think it's rediculous to think there's only one. What if that person is born on a different continent and you both have no way of ever meeting each other. Just because your soulmates, doesn't mean fate will somehow bring you together, if there is such a thing as fate.

I think they're are rare people you meet that you REALLY click incredibly with in every single way. Those people are potential soulmates I think. And they're important because of how rare it is to find them.

When I was 5 they took away Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. When I was closer to 8 they took away the Tooth Fairy. And now you think you're going to lay siege to my Soulmate. Ha. Attack her as you wish but this fairytale cannot die. What could I possibly have left if I allow this one to end?

As far as compatible souls, I believe there are many. And yes, we have lost sight of the rewards that patience and perserverence have to offer. But ultimately I believe that every act of self-indulgence prior to the discovery of your one and only only serves to cheapen the value of your reward. I do believe that there is a soulmate for everyone. I don't see Joseph as being a convenient choice for Mother Mary, but rather a hand-picked husband for her and father to Jesus. And if he was so special... why not I?

Yes, maybe two or three. And yes, we do marry for convenience or timing. We don't wait long enough for the perfect mate..... or we would not know if the perfect mate standing in front of us. I married my wife just because I was ready to marry and raise a family.

There probably was other women in my life had I given them a chance or pursued them - - could have been my soul mate.

There are many different beliefs regarding soul mates. For the most part it all goes back to what are your beliefs. Very few people find "the one" first time especially since we grow and change throughout our lives. I have been married three times and it wasn't until the third one that I knew for sure I had finally met my "soul mate". But it doesn't have to be like that for everyone. The best way to ensure that you meet the right person is to make sure you can be honest, trustworthy, faithful, giving, understanding and most of all is this the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Can you talk to this person about everything or do you need other people to fill the "friend" portion of your life after you begin a relationship? My husband quit his job for me, to take care of me when I fell and broke my back. It was very hard for him and he went through a lot of changes but he was there for me and is still my best friend and partner for life. Many other men have told my husband that they would have been out the door if I had been there mate because the commitment was to demanding and too much of their lives had to be given up. If the person you meet means that much to you and you would always be there for them through thick and thin then you have met the one. Remember life can be and usually is full of hardships from monetary problems to personality problems but you have to remember if you can talk about everything then you can get through the rough times and still be together for the rest of your lives.

To me the one person that is truly meant for me must be my soulmate...whereas there may be others who are soulmate as well but NOT the one...make sense? as the word soul mate implies, is someone that my soul can connect with but due to timing or circumstances, this person may not be the ONE.

I believe that there is only one soulmate for each one of us. However, I think that if we don't end up with our one soulmate, we can be in love and will be very content with someone else. I am looking forward to a very long and loving relationship with a man that I love, but he is not my soulmate.

I don't believe there is only one person out there for me. I am madly in love with my fiance and I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with him, but if something were to happen to him I believe I could fall in love again.

People marry for many reasons. I'm marrying my fiance because we love each other and we are good together. More people get married for love than for convenience, but plenty of people do it for the reasons listed.

I don't believe in soulmates. I think it's possible for anyone to love and live with a number of people. It's just easier to stay together when you think it's 'meant to be' or some other anti-free will crap.
