    Value and heating power goes approximately by weight.

    Gas is about one-thousandth of the density of liquid.

    1 cubic meter = 100 litres, 1 barrel = almost 160 litres.

    One trillion m3 of gas = 1 billion m3 of oil = 630 million barrels approx, could be anything from 500 to 800 depending on the precise composition.

    uh....equal how, in weight? mass? cost? Anywho I drive a Natural gas truck and natural gas costs approx. $1 less than the equivlent amount for a gallon of oil. about a 1/3 less for the same distance.
