JJ THOMSON is credited for the discovery of the electron, of isotopes, and the invention of the mass spectrometer.
he was Cavendish professor of experimental physics at cambridge and honourary professor of physics, cambridge .
he conducted a series of experiments with cathode ray tubes which led him to the discovery of electrons and subatomic particles Thomson's conclusions of his three famous experiments were bold; cathode rays were indeed made of particleswhich he called corpuscles and these corpuyscles came from within the atoms os the electrodes themselves meaning they were in fact divisible.
Thomson imagined the atom as being made up of these corpuscles swarming in a sea of positive charge; this was his plum pudding model.
his discovery was made known in 1897,ans caused a sensatiopn in scientific circles , eventually resulting in him being awarded a NOBEL PRIZE in physics (i think this is much for u) .TINA I WILL HAPPILY ANSWER UR SIMPLE QUESTIOPN AND EARN 12 POINTS SO JUST KEEP ON ASKING

thompson discovered electrons around 1900.
he used a magnetic experiment and predicted that electrons were small subatomic partercles in the nuclueus, but that was eventually proven wrong.
