What is your favorite verse from the Bible and why?

My favorite passage is ....

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 5:43-44

The reason I like this passage is that this proves that God loves all. Both Believers and Non-believers. He encourages peace amongst all his children.

2:9 There will be20 affliction and distress on everyone21 who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek,22 2:10 but23 glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, for the Jew first and also the Greek. 2:11 For there is no partiality with God. 2:12 For all who have sinned apart from the law24 will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

What this says to me is that God really doesnt care which side we are on, he is impartial, and I think this goes for whatever formal religion you believe in as well. There is no partiality with God. Romans is all about how God is Just and wants good to come to all of us from all of us, but that it is not to us to judge people, he will. I look at the self rightious , self serving people who use Gods name and Romans, especially these verses helps me to let them make fools of themselves in Gods eyes.

I dont know where to start.. theres jus so many :), i love Romans 8, the entire Chapter cus its jsu soo cool, ooo an Job 38 I think it is, when God is talking back to Job and tells him how powerful He really is. and then theres the old favorite John 3:16, which is just incredible because it shows the amazing power of selfless love in that our God sent HIs only Son to die for us so that we can have everlasting happy lives! :D

Hard to pick a favorite, but one that comes to mind because in reminds me of my own experience of being born again is Romans 5:6-10 "For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for a good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life"

    I also like John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It shows how much God really loves us and I often read it.

my favorite verse is Similar it is

    John 3:16, 17.

For God so loved the world that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal life,

For He did not come into the world to condemn the world but that through Him you might be saved.

I also like the verse "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul."

It only proves, first, that there is accountability after one's life on earth is spent. Secondly, that no matter how much money we make or earthly wealth we create, it does not matter for we canoot take it with us, -not a penny and not even one single dust in our own fingernails.

Colossians 1:15, 16 because it is where I first began to understand that Jehovah God was talking to Jesus Christ when he said "Let us make man in our image". Prior to that, I read the Bible but alot of it did not make sense to me.

    Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

When you seek you do find God. Hallelujah!

the quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools. wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good----Ecclesiastes 9:5. i like this saying very much.this is still relevant .
