It depends on exactly what it is that you want. It depends on many things like are you looking to work or go to school? If you plan on going to school, then you should check with that particular university because they vary greatly on this issue, if referring to the workforce, many employers look at foreign degrees suspiciously, especially ones that aren't from a well known international universities. But you may find it may be more a matter of your work experience and achievements that may add what you lack in degree credibility.

No. Germany university degrees are recognized in the U.S. However, you many still need to take an exam dependent on the type of employement or further education you which to do - Americans would have a similar exam as well to take.

It depends on what you study. You'll find that any of the more regulated professions are not as easily recognized, such as medicine, architecture, law (impossible actually, that one), or accounting. But it is no problem whatsoever with things like art and design, literature, foreign languages, or even business. Just make sure that whatever you study in Germany ends with a Bachelor that is actually called that, or even a Master (and most German university degrees end with that, because they end with a thesis, as opposed to the US Bachelor; the Germans call that the "Diplom").Source(s): I've studied and worked in both countries.
