Does pessimism get in the way of friendship - or is it fear?

    Now this one is fear, at least for me. I can't speak for others. I've let many friends/acquaintances dissolve due to fear and/or insecurity.

    Personality conflicts tend to get in the way of friendship more than pessimism or feer.

    A pessimist is a person who is always good for bad news, is never happy unless he is miserable, and burns bridges before he gets to them.

    I say pessimism. Fear can be overcome easier than someone who is a pessimist.

    I find that pessimism is often confused with realism as most people find the truth rather unsettling.

    For me it's neither of those things. I value friendships highly and would do almost anything to make sure mine are kept. All someone has to do is ask me, talk to me...

    Some friendships are based and thrive on being pessimistic.
