My cell phone has a option to engage or turn off the GPS feature. If on does it adversely effect battery life?

It depends on the model of your cellphone, and which mode you put the GPS into. In the general GPS mode, it can run all day long and not drain the battery. However, in the super-fast GPS mode (used when doing real-time tracking and map tracing) it can burn up the battery in about 2 to 3 hours.

It affects your battery life. I'm not sure how much... that really depends on the make and model of your phone. You can always test this out... by having it on one day and off another.

But IT DOES affect it. I leave mine on... I haven't had problems with the battery running low due to it.
