If you will be working in the downtown then the Disney area would be too far of a commute. The traffic in Orlando around the area of I-4 is very bad. Depending on your economic situation you can find nice small older home the College Park neighborhood in the high $300,000. Colonial Town has older homes too but is a bit less. $200,000 will get you a nice condo conversion any where in town. There is a glut of properties for sale right now so there is a lot to chose from. Good luck.

Prez say he knows answer to this question. Prez say it depends on what kind of money you have. Prez say there very nice areas, but they not too cheap to live. Prez live by Disney. Prez like area where he lives but Prez not like the Tourist traffic. Prez say Metrowest. Prez say Dr. Phillips. Prez say Celebration. Prez say these all have nice house and lots of money. Prez say try www.craigslist.com to search for apartment. Prez say good luck. Prez say it hard to find nice area from afar though. Prez better know.
