Used used...like just pulled out of an old car and is ready for yours "used" or like, taken out and refurbished "used"?

You should never just go out and buy someone else's problem, for God's sake, especially not off of eBay. You can go to a junk yard and find an old engine, but there's a chance they haven't pulled it, and you'll have to do it yourself. Not sure if that's something you're up for.

In the meantime though, you can check out Jasper Engines. They rebuild used engines and bring them back to solid running condition. With them, while you'll pay a bit more than you would for just some old beater, you'll get a warranty that wll protect you in case anything happens to the engine. They've been in business for years and are used in many shops all over the US. Keep an eye out for this logo...

If you're looking to rebuild a daily driver though, I would consider a "new" car. An engine transplant can take a significant amount of time...sometimes weeks.

Try car-parts.com. I use them all the time for parts. Its a nationwide network of junkyards, in all 50 states. Great prices, and reasonable shipping.
