When do guys and girls usually stop acting like spoiled brats and get a clue?

My girl is 22 and Im 21, she seems to always want my attention focused at her but she doesnt want my immediate attention. She wants to be #1 but not center of everyone. If I say or do something she doesnt like she ignores me like a Im the child. When we have a problem she refuses to talk about it until Im so fed up with trying I dont even care about it anymore, then she wants to write me an email or a note. I've talked to her about how important communication is and opening up to one another if we want the relationship to work and she will then open up by telling me a lot of things she would never want anyone to know in a letter. I tell her we cant be together if we cant work things out and she immediately says fine lets not be together. But then she broke up with me once and woke me up in the middle of the night(long story) to apologize with sex. She is the baby of the family and has had a lot of unfortunate things happen to her but can she grow out of this, I love so much of her.

The only way you grow out of being a spoiled brat is when people stop treating you like one or when something happens to you to make you realize that its not all about you....It took me a long time to realize that....

Well......she sounds like she has you on a string like a yo yo. Until she realizes there are consequences for her immature "temper tantrums" she has no reason to change. What you need to do is let her do her little "pouts" and when she realizes it isn't getting the results she is used to, she may change her behaviour. When she is acting improperly, pouting, not talking, etc., just leave, but let her know you are leaving, "You are upset now and don't want to talk about it, so I'm going out for awhile so you can sort things out and when you are in a better mode, call me (or I'll be back).....and do it. Don't make a statement you don't intend to carry out and don't back down. You are both young and a lot of what is bothering you comes with maturing. Good luck to you and don't let her hook you with "make up sex".....you'll end up being a daddy because somebody "forgot" protection! Happy holidays.

Funny reading some of the answers. Most teen girls do not act they are stupid spoiled brats who dress and act like sluts they are. When you wear clothes that are small and tight and show almost every how can you sit there a say that they are not. The parents (mother) is at fault in most way that their girls dress. Just go to a mall and like. You will see some girls with their mothers and they will be dressed just like their kid. They are the first ones to cry when their kid is attacked. Do not get me wrong. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE ATTACK BT DRESS LIKE THAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE.

When someone finally has the balls to spank them, figuratively speaking of course. This could be a verbal or emotional spanking, I'm not condoning physical violence here. :)

No one ever grows out of anything unless they are made to understand consequences. There are plenty of people out there who have had unfortunate things happen to them, but it doesn't give them carte blanche to act childish and rude.

It sounds like she is used to getting her way, plain and simple. If you love her, help her grow out of it and refuse to deal with her childish behavior. Meaning if she does childish things to you, then you must give her consequences. You may lose her, but that's the risk in relationships. Of course you could stay with her and feed the behavior and just turn her into a tyrant.

Quite a few people are like that, someone I know is 23 and she is the same. She should grow out of it (eventually) but how long are you prepared to put up with it? TRY and talk to her about it again. (I know it will not be easy!!)

She can grow out of it if she wants to. She has to be the one to let it go. Are you willing to wait around for that to happen?

We (females) sometimes feel like we can express ourselves better when we write. It gives us time to think things out. If she agreed to break up, then break up. But when its over, let it be over. Don't go back and have sex. That complicates things.

  • She is definitely a spoiled brat who wants to be some princess like she read about in books, or what her daddy convinced she was years ago.

You 'll never please her because she is immature and selfish.

Frankly, she is very needy too.

    HIGH MAINTENANCE!
