Green is the orignial color of Saint Nicholas, and Santa was that way untill coca - cola came into the scene and had a Red Santa representing it's company's colors. It became so popular it just stayed that way.

The Coca-Cola Corporation popularised the idea of Santa wearing red in their advertising. Before that he wore either red or green or even, in some countries, black.

I think he used to wear green and/or white, but when Coca-Cola made it's Santa red the color stuck.

I don't think there is a reason. Maybe he just likes red. If he wears green, then you will ask why doesn't he wear red..

it may be offensive, morally corrupt, worrying, profane, and heartbreaking. it would reason an uproar, we'd all sense betrayed, and that i think of everybody may be so outraged there may be riots international. ... in spite of the shown fact that it does not be unlawful. through fact there's no regulations against him donning green. :/
