I would hate for my friend to report me. But if my kids are in danger, then you need to call DHS. That is what real friends do.

Definitly try talking to her and see if she comes around warn her what would happen if someone found out about the drug that she would loose her kids . If she still doesnt change I would call DSS and have them investigate . A child deserves every oppurtunity in life and the will not have a chance growing up with a drug addict . THose kids deserve better than that so dont turn you back do something to help them ,because if you dont and some thing happens to them can you live with yourself . JUst be prepare to loose a friend , but who needs friends like that anyway

It depends on the extent of the usage. If it is simply smoking pot occasionally- I would stay out of the situation. If it involves serious drugs that are impacting the mother enough to effect the way she cares for her children- then I would speak with her about it and if that is not sucessful- I would only report her as a last resort!

Please report her even if she is not letting her kids do them or if she is just doing pot. The children will be suffering detrimental mental and physical conditions as long as their mom is using. They are breathing in the fumes from anything their mom smokes. They are risking potential exposure to diseases if they accidentally come in contact with dirty needles. When their mom is high she can not be responsible for the welfare of these kids. They may not be eating properly. Dangerous people could be coming into their household. If she started a fire with her paraphernalia, she may not be capable of calling for help or getting her children to safety. If she drives while under the influence of drugs, she could be endangering others along with her own children. She could suffer hallucinations or severe mood swings that could cause her to harm her children. Please, get them out of there.

One of my older siblings was a user when I was growing up. It was terrible. I can't imagine how bad it would have been had it been my mother. Please get those kids out of there. You don't really need someone with so little regard for others as your friend. You deserve better.

I would much rather report her to her parents or some caring relative so that she could get help. Because chances are if her kids are taken away from her by some complete stranger it may make matters worst but she definitely don't need those kids in that kind of mess.

I'd talk to her first and try to offer to help her stop, most people take drugs as an escape from something painful and unhappiness in their life. If you support and help her deal with the problems behind the drug use then she'll be more prepared to sort herself out for the kids. And that is a point you need to stress to her, can she really continue to risk losing her children.

  • YES! That just does not sound like a responsible adult and then think of the children if anything else, what kind of life is she telling them to live? It's a shame to know people actually do that. Doing it annonymously might be your best route! Good luck and I hope you make the right decision, for the kids sake.

I agree with the people that say if it's pot smoking let it go.However if she is in to hard core drugs such as cocaine, meth, crack, heroin,or anything like that talking to her isn't going to any good. These people will say what ever you want to hear to get you off their back for that moment.Been there, done that. Also if she has people coming and going all the time this is not a good thing. You must use your own judgment as her friend and follow your heart. You are the one that has to live with the decision YOU made. Not us.Good luck.

If her kids see her snorting or shooting up and they are being affected by her being high and not taking care of them I would report her. Also if she is leaving the drugs around where they can get to them, then I would.
