Gay or straight, if a person is lucky enough to love someone, who loves them back, who are we to say it's wrong? Love is a rare commodity these days. I think that they should be able to express that love, and commit to each other emotionally, spiritually, and legally.

I'm going to assume you mean married. I don't know. I'm still up in the air on this. I don't have a problem with gay couples adopting and I don't have a problem with health insurance covering both partners. I don't even care how they file taxes. I guess it's the word married that gets me. Domestic partnership is fine but I was always taught marriage is between a man and a women but I also think that discrimination against gay people is wrong so I guess I just don't know. That's my opinion so far.

I think a "gay union" would sound better than Gay Marriage.

We wont become a "Gay USA" But you cant stop the gay people from falling in love and wanting to be together. May as well just deal with it, you know, like dealing with any other change.

  • Love is Love. If two people are devoted to eachother and love eachother and WANT to get married then it shouldn't be about gender. I'm gay and in love and the fact that I can't get married hurts me very much. It's just not fair to say that "you can but you can't becuase I don't agree with the way you were born" Would you tell a black man he couldn't get married? That's how I view it. You're born gay just like you're born a certian race. So the question isn't why can we get married, it's more along the lines of why CAN'T we get married?

I am gay and i too, one day would like to sanctify the relationship that i have now with my boyfriend.

As for me i need not to get married in a church and call our union "marriage". The idea that our relationship is being accepted and made known is important.

The reason why we homosexuals are fighting for this right is because we would like to have the same spousal rights as any staright couple have.

I don't undersatnd why many countries are hindering this process.. there are other important matters that the US government has to cleaning up their act in Iraq.

I mean do people these days take pride in cutting short other people's happiness?

The right to marry has nothing to do with the country becoming gay. The right to marry is a fundamental right that is denied to law abiding tax paying citizen because of some irrational fear that it some how takes away something from heterosexual marriage. Its a fear and control issue and how the christian right fleeces more money out of people to pay for their mansion and extravagant lifestyles. Frankly less heterosexual christian marriage and reproduction would be a healthy thing for this country.

    Don't be moronic!

    Let's look at the facts.

Gays/Lesbians make up only about 10% at most of the population. Allowing gays/lesbians access to legal marriage rights will NOT turn anyone who isn't gay into being gay.

Allowing gays/lesbians to legally marry WILL NOT suddenly stop those who are NOT gay from procreating.

Allowing gays/lesbians to legally marry WILL NOT suddenly destroy opposite gender couples' marriages. DIVORCE DOES THAT!

Allowing gays/lesbians to legally marry WILL NOT lead to beastiality, pedophilia, marriage to inanimate objects! ALL THESE ARGUMENTS WERE TRIED and FAILED against INTER-RACIAL MARRIAGE.

It didn't lead to those things then, and it won't do so now either.

MARRIED, dear, MARRIED! Have you been listening to too many of President Bush's speeches lately?

Do not worry, as long there will be people with your narrow point of view, America will stay a "straight USA".

Now, go back and finish your ten-pieces-puzzle, you started last August, and after that, learn some easy English words; maybe it will also help you not to ask dumb questions.

you are crazy for thinking that.

if gay marriage is legalized, are you going to become gay? I'm hetero and I don't even want to get married yet. why would I suddenly start liking girls? do me a favor...and go find some logic.

I don't see what's wrong with it. In the UK you can only get married in a 'civil partnership' which is so crap cos it's halfway between marriage and...not marriage. They government should just stop being prudish and let people do what they want.
