starting fluid each start on a BMW 528e?

hey, I am thinking of buying a 84 BMW 528e (dont give me any flack its an aquired taste lol). But there is one small flaw, engine starting fluid is required each cold start to get it going (once its warm its fine tho). Any mechanics know how I could fix this or if it is anything serious?

fuel injection problem, or an outside chance of valve timing...prolly dirty injectors.

new injectors are about $250, plus installation.

the e was an ok car...i'd be more concerned with the shape of the body and interior on this model than the engine...engines can be bought. also, i'd rather have the five speed than the mid 80's beemer excuse for an automatic

Check and see how long this problem has been going on. If it has been for some time steer clear of this one. Starting fluid is not good for the engine.
