What is my motivation?

    Avoiding diabetes and heart attack is your motivation. Do you really want to deal with getting your foot amputated and having your chest cut open at 40? I didn't think so.

    You gotta figure that out for yourself. If you aren't doing it for reasons that you feel are important, you're aren't going to be at the gym too long anyway.

    I do it because I feel fantastic after a workout and it is my main means of reducing stress. But realistically it's also because broad shoulders and big arms not only boost my own confidence, but it's not a bad way to attract some attention from the opposite sex as well (or the same sex depending on your orientation)
