How can Jesus and Lucifer both be the morning star?

Maybe they're one and the same?

I asked this one earlier and didn't get too many answers. I wonder why.

where does this concept come from?

The Scriptures never refer to Satan specifically as a "morning star". The Scripture which some mistakenly apply to Satan is actually referring to the king of Babylon. The Scripture is quite clear, and even the supposed name "Lucifer" is a mistranslation of the sarcastic term "shining one" as a reference to the Babylonian king's former glory.

(Isaiah 14:4,12) [The prophet Isaiah] must raise up this proverbial saying against the king of Babylon and say:... O how you have fallen from heaven, you shining one, son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to the earth, you who were disabling the nations!

However, the Scriptures do refer to all angels as "morning stars" and "sons of God", such as in describing the angelic response to the creation of Earth by Jehovah God.

(Job 38:4,7) Where did you happen to be when [Jehovah] founded the earth? ...When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?

Jesus is elevated as much more than a typical angel by the unique designations "the bright morning star" and "archangel".

(Revelation 22:16) I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to you people of these things for the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright morning star.

(Numbers 24:17) A star will certainly step forth out of Jacob, And a scepter will indeed rise out of Israel.

(1 Thessalonians 4:14-16) Jesus died and rose again, so, too... the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel's voice

Simple question gets simple answers, One is the ruler of the Day which is Heaven, the other is the ruler of the night which is Hell. Both worlds were created, In the Beginning God created Heaven in Chapter one of the Bible, then in Chapter 2 tells the whole story again in a reverse order because this was our world being created. Our world is now living in the sixth day of creation and Satan or the Morning star, or the Savior of the World is about to present himself with his Bride or church just as Adam and Eve did in the beginning. He will be battling against God for the souls of billions now on the earth, Hitler was the pattern for this event so study history and you will see the future.

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

27And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. Revelation 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Source(s): Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

I've seen similar questions here in the past.

each time I see one, I do a word search for "morning star" on my Bible software, and find only two references in either the Old or New Testament.

Neither reference mentions Lucifer as the morning star. Both refer to Jesus Christ. Maybe you get no answers because your premise is blatantly incorrect, yet you continue to antagonize.

Source(s): Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star. Re 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Jesus is the morning star, luciferwas an angel of light, now an angel of darkness

The Morningstar was a position in heaven for the right hand of God. When Lucifer was kicked out for doing his stuff, the position was open until Jesus showed up.

They are as different or the same as a child and an adult. Lucifer became the Christ. "...and Satan shall be transformed into an angel of Light..."

The morning star? Lucifer is a myth, Jesus was real (but deciding whether or not he was the "messiah" I will leave up to others). Neither one of them is the morning star, but if you want to you can name the stars anything you want, so the morning star could be "Fred" if you want it to be. Usually the "morning star" is the planet Venus.

In depth study shows Lucifer is not Satan as most faiths believe.

Lucifer was another local king that shown to be worthy but fell short.

In some belief systems they *are* one and the same. In those systems of belief, Lucifer is not an evil being, but someone who God gave a mission to. He is the creator of the lower planes (including Earth) and creates balance in those planes (good/evil, positive/negative, hot/cold, misery/bliss). In this way, he is *indeed* one and the same.
