How do you walk in high heels?

I bought my first pair of high heels and I want to wear them for when my boyfriend comes home from basic training. I want to look natural and not like my feet are hurting and not look like I have a corncob stuck up my butt.

Walk straight, but be careful not to put your weight on your lower back. I wore an unusually high pair of heels all day at work and did this in order to feel comfortable. The next morning, my back hurt so much that they only way I was able to even get out of bed was to roll out and onto the floor. It was pathetic. I felt like such an idiot for succumbing to fashion while risking my health.

Just stand up straight (which helps your back anyway) and walk around like you own the place. :) I think it's super sweet that you're trying to look sexy for him. Good luck!

    Practice, practice, practice.

If you can get another pair with the same height heel, use them so you don't wear the special shoes out prematurely. Wear them as long as possible each day. If you have or can get a pair that are higher, practice in those. After them, the special ones will feel like sneakers.

Don't waste your time with practicing in anything under 2" or you simply won't feel the difference.

The right way to walk in heels is to not walk like you do in regular shoes (heel then ball) You have to put the front(ball) of your foot down first then back. I learned that in modeling school. That's how it looks most natural. It might feel weird at first, but that's how your supposed to do it. Most people do that anyway and don't realize it. Hope this helps.

My suggestion is to buy a pair with a very thick heel. Also make sure they're VERY comfortable. You should practice walking around in them to get used to how they feel. And don't think about it too much, just act like your walking in your tennis shoes. Oh and BTW...if your boyfriend liked you when you wore sneakers chances are he'll like you regardless of what is on your feet and he'll just be happy to see you again.

You might try buying a pair of heels that are slightly lower and are easier to walk in. After you've walked around in those for a while, the higher heels might not be such a problem.

Practice around your home first ! Slingback heels may be a little easier to walk in too, instead of any other type of heel,or an heel with a part where it wraps around your ankle is easier to walk in too.

if they were my first pair i would buy a 1/2 in to an inch heel so i can get use to them...then i would get larger heels and it you want more stability i would get a thinker heel too....so if this makes more sence i would return the ones you bought and get more of a smaller but thinker heel and keep on walking in them!!

Practice makes perfect! Walk around with them just a little at a time. And as far as them hurting, the more and more you wear them the less and less they hurt.

As a first time nothing over 3", something that is comfortable for the front padding and practice makes perfect.

In my other shoes i don't have to put my whole foot on the floor but when you wear high heels make sure before you step your whole foot is on the ground or else it wont be good.

and mmmm and then its just basically like walking in other shoes.
