Is there a single test to diagnose for cancer?

    yes

    there is firstly CEA " cancer emberyo antigen " as a primary test for most tumors in ur body

    but for specificity must be do one test or more to each organ.

    for ex.:

    AFP for liver , PSA total and free for prostate and s on.....

    No. Although there are commonalities in some markers in the blood, different tests are used to diagnose different types of cancer.

    No, there are many different types of cancers. Basically to confirm cancer, they need a sample from the tissue, and then send it to a pathologist who'll look at it with a microscope. He'll be able to confirm if the cells are cancerous or not. Best of luck to you.

    Your Dr will do a CBC...complete blood count. If your white blood count is extremely low, she will likely do a CAT or PET (with nuclear dye) to determine where the tumor is. Then a surgeon will do a biopsy and determine whether or not the tumor or tissue is cancerous.

    a biopsy will diagnose almost any type of cancer.
