is mars a planet?

in 2nd grade my teacher said it is an astroid or something? i can't remember what she said. do u know

    Yep it's a planet. Pluto is considered an asteroid now.

    Yes it is a planet. It fits the criteria for being considered a planet and not an asteroid just revolving around the Sun.

    Yes,mars is a planet.That asteroids thingy is that some very small obstacles called asteroids revolve around the sun.the are common between mars and jupiter too.Or mar's moons,phobos and deimos are just asteroids captured by mars's gravity

    It's a planet allright.The only planet besides Earth where bacteria thrives,and where water was found recently
