You could get an old cookbook out and find a recipe or you could go and get some of that dough from the stores that you can just pop in the oven. I didn't know what kind of xmas cookie you would want so i got out a sugar cookie one (sugar coookies are classics). Here ya go:

    2 cups white sugar

    1 cup butter

    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    2 eggs

    6 cups all-purpose flour

    2 teaspoons baking powder

    2 teaspoons baking soda

    1 cup buttermilk

In a mixing bowl, cream sugar, butter and vanilla until light colored. Beat in eggs.

In a large bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk. Stir the egg mixture and buttermilk mixture into the dry incrementally. The dough should be stiff. Refrigerate overnight.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters and arrange on cookie sheets.

    Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 8 to 10 minutes.

Once they're cooled you can ice if you want. Have fun!

These are some that I make every year for Christmas. I guess they are more of a candy that a cookie, but anyway here they are.

    Corn Flake Candy

    1 2/3 cup Corn Syrup

    1 2/3 cup sugar

Boil until sugar is melted, remove from heat, then add

    1 2/3 tablespoon vanilla

    2 1/2 cup peanut butter

    * * *

    10 cups Corn flakes

In a big pan that is coated with butter, put in 10 cups Corn Flakes.

Pour the above mixture over the Corn Flakes and stir with a large spoon that is coated with butter. I have even coated my hands with butter for the last of them to be put on wax paper so not to burn my hands as it is still very hot.

Stir until Corn Flakes are covered. Spoon out on wax paper and let cool.

    No Bake Cookies

    2 cups sugar

    1/2 cup milk

    1 stick butter

    1/2 cup peanut butter

    4 tablespoons cocoa

    3 cups oats

    1 teaspoon vanilla

Boil sugar, milk, butter and cocoa for 1 1/2 minutes (until all the sugar is melted).

Start timing when mixture comes to a boil.

    Remove from heat.

Add peanut butter, oats, and vanilla.

    Mix until blended.

Drop by spoon fulls onto waxed paper to set and cool.

Many chocolate chips and other baking things have recipes on the back. Just check the label in the supermarket and follow the directions word for word. This gets rid of the need to buy a recipe book and saves money.

Make green rice krispy treats. Put pieces of a candy cane or red hots in bottom of a greased bundt pan or jello mold and put the rice krispy on top of candy. When cools..take out and turn over and you have a wreath!!
