    The state portion is 4%, then each parish and town has its own. In my hometown of Kentwood, it's 9%... 3% for Tangipahoa Parish an 2% for Town of Kentwood.

    Typically LA sales tax is 9%, but it changes a little depending on the parish.

    You should only pay LA sales tax if you live in LA and the company is here as well. If you don't live here the LA company should not charge sales tax as the purchase is categorized as interstate commerce.
